I Give The Super Bowl An A+, Me A C+

Posted: Mon 7:35 AM, Feb 02, 2009
Super Bowl Sunday is synonymous with hanging out with friends, enjoying a few cold beverages, and eating way too many chicken wings.  The good news is I only had four chicken wings.

While the game was amazing, the temptation of having a few snack foods was too much.  I did what I could by starting off with a shrimp cocktail.  That was fine but when the queso was cooked up, I was glad that I brought along a few baked chips.  I didn't go crazy with the queso, just a few bites of that, but then came the chicken wings and then the guacamole.

Now I didn't do the usual and continue snacking through the game, I held my eating to just a few snacks per quarter.  But then our host, KBTX's Chief Photographer Jordan Meserole, cooked up some hot dogs. I couldn't remember the last time I had one, so with Bruce Springsteen singing "Born To Run", I ate one hot dog thinking about all the running I'll have to be doing this week.

In the 4th quarter Jordan's wife Allison decided to bake some cookies.  Once again, I couldn't remember the last time I had one of those and WOW!  I forgot how delicious freshly baked cookies could be.  Thanks Ali!

So that was my wonderful Super Bowl menu and my official last shot of anything unhealthy before the wedding.  Now with just 26 days to go, it's time to kick it back into gear and drop my final fifteen plus pounds.  Last week I weighed in at 285 so we'll see what happens this week but expect big things after that!
