Now That The Wedding Is Done

So, the wedding is officially history.  It's hard to believe that after a year and a half of planning, our special day has passed.  What a time it was too!

I'm sure every groom thinks his bride is the most beautiful bride ever, and that is definitely the case with me.  Meredith and I are very traditional, so we didn't see each other on the wedding day until the big moment.  Waiting for her to enter the church seemed to take forever.  The fact she had 13 bridesmaids didn't help.  I'll never forget when she walked in, because I could see her father, but I couldn't see Meredith.  A column happened to be between us and once again, it seemed like it took forever for her to appear.  But as soon as she did, WOW.  I was a witness to the most beautiful bride ever.

Of course it was an emotional moment and as I began to tear up, Meredith's father David gave me a huge grin.  Before I even had a chance to let a tear drop fall, David did what he does best.  He broke the tension by joking with Meredith and I that she must be marrying a wuss.  The tears disappeared and we shared one of the many laughs we had on our wedding.  Laughs that I'll never forget.

I'm just happy that Meredith, the only person looking at me in the church, was able to walk up to a 25 pound lighter me.  Losing weight during Shaping Up With Shane has been a very rewarding experience.  I feel better and I want to continue getting in better shape.  My weakness for Taco Bell and Rudy's BBQ will always be there, but as long as I do everything in moderation, I should be just fine.

I still hope to lose another 20-40 pounds. I know it's a lot, but I have a feeling I'll be able to do it.  I can't thank Trevor with Innovative Fitness and Anytime Fitness enough for helping me out with my weight loss.  The one piece of advice I'd have is once you commit to losing weight, just do it.  Don't think about it.  Don't question it.  Just do it.  Set a time to get to the gym and stick with it.  Work out an hour and a half each day and get on a meal plan.  It's not hard.  It just takes commitment.  Of course trainers really help too.

Till next time.....
