The past couple of forecasts have been focused in on cold temperatures..in fact the coldest that we have seen in a while. Just to name a few, Easterwood bottomed out at 38 this morning, Madisonville right about the same, Snook dropped down to 37 and Hearne to 35. But, Centerville takes the cake with our Weather Watcher reporting in with a temperature right at 32 and freezing!
But now, we switch gears from the cold to that wet stuff falling from the sky...which looks like a good possibility.
Our next upper-level weather maker will swing way down from the Pacific Northwest through the Big Bend area and somewhere between us and the Gulf Coast. The plus side is that any shot at severe weather looks minimal, so good news there. The downside is we could be in for a pretty good soaking with minimal flooding concerns. Granted even though it looks like the coast is targeted for the heavier rain and flooding concerns...chances of rain will increase (60%-70%) overnight Thursday and last through most of the day Friday for the Brazos Valley. Therefore, minor street and low-lying area flooding not totally out of the question.
More importantly, what about the game at Kyle Field vs. Baylor on Saturday? Well, I'm glad you asked! There may be a lingering shower or two Saturday morning, but intentions are to see the clouds clear by the afternoon for a little bit of sunlight(we'll call it partly sunny) and highs topping off "football-seasonal" in the mid-to-upper 60s!
