December 1.  That's right, I said it.  Believe it or not, 2009 is quickly coming to a close...possibly with some interesting developments.

Let's start with November, first, before we dive head in.  Here's a recap:

Coldest Morning Low:  38 on Wednesday the 19th.

Warmest Afternoon High:  80 on Saturday the 14th

Total rainfall (at Easterwood):  3.42"

Biggest Change of Weather in 24 hour period:  70 degrees in the morning dropping to 45 degrees by the afternoon following a cold front.

As of this morning, College Station was still officially 0.27" BEHIND on rain fall.

Now...on to talks of winter...possibly (emphasis on possibly!).

As of yesterday afternoon, every meteorologist in Central and South Texas' ears perked up when our computer models started to show a chance of cold air dumping down at the same time that precipitation could fall....let me draw this out a little longer...and...in short, a chance for snow.  Yes, Virginia, snow.

Here's the thing:  the inner child is screaming, YES!  However, let's stay rational, shall we?  I do believe we will make a good run at reaching our first freeze between Thursday and Saturday mornings across a good portion of the Brazos Valley.  The questions that remain in the details are:  if we do get another shot of cold air, how quickly can the column of the atmosphere cool above us, will there be enough moisture to interact with, and more-so, how much moisture will be available. 

We'll wait and see just how things play out.  As of right now, we'll stick with a 20% chance of precipitation on Friday, with cold temperatures.  Like I said, let's not count our chickens before they hatch...but stay tuned as an interesting forecast plays out.
