Well here we find ourselves on the doorstep of another weekend...a weekend, that is, filled with cool, rainy weather transitioning to some of the warmest temperatures we have seen in at least a month's time.

Here's how it looks:

Friday:  As you can tell, by looking out your window, gray skies have once again moved into the Brazos Valley.  At the surface, we are still stuck under that dome of cool temperatures.  We seeing cloud cover because at the top of the atmosphere, warm and moist Pacific Ocean air is riding up over our colder weather.  We in the weather world like to call this "overrunning."  To add to our upper-level moisture, a low pressure system is developing along the coast, which will aid in beginning to filter in some Gulf moisture.

Moral of the story:  overrunning usually leads to rain falling (much like we saw at the beginning of the week).  Therefore, by 5pm today, we'll throw in a 50% chance of light rain for your drive home.

Saturday:  Overnight, we kick our rain chances to a 70% chance.  By morning hours, our low will continue to advance slowly east and rain chances should begin to become slim, say, around the noon hour.  However, it looks like clouds will hang tough...with maybe a peak of sunshine by day's end...leaving highs in the cool upper 40s to lower 50s.

Sunday: Pull out the shorts!  A little sunshine and warm, south winds go a long way.  High will be topping off just about or at 70 degrees!  One of our long range models came in this morning advertising near 80 degrees, However, at this time of the year and with the expectation that there might be some fog come Sunday morning, thinking low 70s are not out of the question and more likely.
