February Starts Gray, Chilly and Rainy

Posted: Mon 1:09 PM, Feb 01, 2010

Our latest cold front that pushed through the Brazos Valley last Friday (1/29) left a longer lasting impression than it was slated to thanks to stubborn cloud cover over the weekend.  As we start the new work week, and the month of February, we are still cloudy and still chilly...however, with the help of some light southeast winds, temperatures this Monday are at least climbing out of the 30s!

Now, lets talk about more rain in the forecast.  Thanks to our good friend, El Nino, weather systems continue to shoot our way on a pretty regular basis.  The next of these rain makers is due in around Wednesday. 12am Thursday Morning

As for the timing right now, it looks as if rain chances will begin to spread in starting after lunch Wednesday and last through Thursday evening as several pieces of energy come riding through the jet stream.  That being said, the greatest chance (as of Monday morning--60%) and the heaviest of the rain is expected between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.  All in all, a scenario for 1-2" of rain is looking pretty likely across the Brazos Valley.

Keep sporting those jackets...but don't push those umbrellas too far into the corner just quite yet.
