Starting off the new week on a pretty quiet and normal note.  In fact, over the next week or so, things should be right around typical for this time of year.  What's normal? Highs in the upper 70s and lows in the mid-50s...and that's exactly what we will get this upcoming week.

A summer-like blocking pattern is setting up this week called "the ring of fire."  Basically, as high pressure remains dominant over the Southeastern US, the Brazos Valley will be on the western fringes of it.  Therefore, as moisture rounds the edge of this system, showers and thunderstorms should be expected each afternoon in West and South Texas with just a mix of sun and clouds here at home.  Until Wednesday that is. As this high slides ever so slightly east, there is a small window of an isolated shower or thunderstorm each afternoon here in our backyard from mid-week on into the weekend. 

And a little rain wouldn't be a bad thing.  The last considerable rain we've had was back in the middle of March. On the books, that leaves us a bit behind on rainfall this year.  So it wouldn't be a bad thing if we could work up as much of a surplus as we can before we head into the sultry summer months.

Enjoy the spring temperatures, try to avoid all the pollen out there...and keep an umbrella in the car for the end of the week, just in case!
