Whoa...whoa..whoa...don't get too excited.  If you walked outside when the rain fell last night, you know it wasn't very heavy and didn't last very long.  But now that you are here, stick around for a while.  Yes?  Good!

After watching a band of moderate to heavy rain falling from West / Central Texas into The Metroplex for a majority of the day, it was good to see just the small smattering of light rain we did here at home.  While a general 1 to 2 inches fell across most of the northern half of the state yesterday, with a few localized spots of 3+ inches, the official grand total for College Station was (drum roll please):

Yep, that's it.  0.04". But hey, no complaints because that 0.04" looks pretty good when you look at the facts: 

-- Measurable rain has not fallen in Bryan / College Station since March 14th.

-- The last decent rain we saw in Brazos County, and most of the area for that matter, was back on January 16th with 0.70" of rain measured in the rain gauge.

-- Last 1+ inch of rain Easterwood Airport received:  January 9th -- coming in with 1.69"

So by all means, it was no drought buster (or anywhere even close to it) but rain at this point is rain, friends.  Especially when the outlook for the rest of this week and beginning of next is high and dry.

Good news is, the next couple of days are going to be beautiful!  Lows chilly in the 40s and 50s with highs topping off in the low 70s today and low 80s -- where they should be for this time of the year -- over Wednesday and Thursday.  Not too shabby, considering we started May by breaking and setting a new daytime high.
