In the driver's seat for the forecast this Saturday evening -- so why not crank out a blog post about what is shaping up to be a soggy Monday ahead. First things first, though....
Clouds increase Sunday
Have plans to head out of the house early Sunday morning? Be sure to take an extra couple of minutes -- areas of dense fog will be likely by the time we wake up in the morning. Visibility could be as low as 1/2 a mile at times in parts of the Brazos Valley.
Once the fog clears out, mostly cloudy skies are expected as our approaching rain makers starts to get closer. Sunshine will peek out here and there and highs are expected to top off in the upper 60s to our north to the mid-70s in the far southern portions of our area. An isolated shower / rumble of thunder could be possible as well along our stalled out cold front from today, that will be sitting around our southern counties.
Rain, Rain, Rain
The upper-level rain maker we have been talking about for several days finally reaches Texas by late Sunday / early Monday. Light showers could start up as early as midnight Monday followed by heavier rains moving in from the west right around daybreak. Expect rain pretty much from sun up to sun down for most of the Brazos Valley (especially the northwestern corner).
A widespread 1" to 2" is very possible for most of us by the time it is all said and done. In areas where storms pass through for most of the day, isolated pockets of 2"-3" is not completely out of the question.
