It's officially cold outside when our very own News 3 "Cold Weather Correspondent" Brrrrrrrt shows up on Brazos Valley This Morning. ....and show up he did this morning!

A Cold, Frosty Morning
A handful of locations dropped down to at or below freezing early this morning. The coldest temperature that we had reported was 26° in Centerville, along with heavy frost, from our Weather Watcher in Leon County.
Temperatures not only across the Brazos Valley....not only across Texas....but across the country were way down this morning, thanks to our latest cold front swinging the door wide open from Canada. Here's a look at lows from all three today:

Cool Weather Not Going Anywhere
Enjoying this blast of Fall / Winter that's made it's way here? Hope so -- we'll continue to see 10° to 15° BELOW the average highs and lows for the next several days in the Brazos Valley.
After a weak, reinforcing cold front moving through late today / tomorrow, there will be a quiet, zonal flow in the upper-levels of the atmosphere. That will allow for us to slowly see a gradual warming trend from the 30s to 40s for overnight lows and from the 60s to 70s for our daytime highs. At this point we are calling for 30s each morning through Thursday, followed by a return to the 70s by either late Friday or Saturday.
Here's a look at tonight's (Tuesday into Wednesday morning) lows. Notice that folks in Milam, Robertson, Leon and Houston Counties could possibly see a light freeze once again tonight. Also, as we learned this morning, just because the mercury doesn't drop to 32° or lower, we could still see a bit of light frost on the car if you are headed out in the pre-dawn hours.

Keep the jackets on hand and fire up the stove for a pot of chili -- I'll see you for supper tonight!
