Whoa! What a difference a cold front makes! After a somewhat muggy day in the low / mid 80s on Tuesday, we struggled to even reach 60° Wednesday afternoon in the Brazos Valley -- and some of us didn't even make that!
Quite a bit of change thanks to the cold front, cloudy skies, drizzle / light rain, and a light north breeze. When you put it in perspective, Old Man Fall (that works, right?!) made an impact today.
Clearing Out -- Fantastic Fall Weather
Have to tell you -- if you haven't been feeling that "Yup, it sure is October" tingle yet, we'll get you fixed right up.
After a mostly cloudy start to the day, sunshine will take over the skies of the Brazos Valley once again by mid-morning Wednesday. Temperatures will respond to that sun as we top off in the low-to-mid 70s by the late afternoon (much better than the upper 50s, right?).
Be sure to get out and enjoy it -- we're already tracking changes to our weather to wrap up the work / school week...
Reinforcing Cold Front and Yet Another Shot at Rain
With a broad area of low pressure still taking over much of the country, we'll look for another punch of cool air to arrive by the beginning of the weekend. Think of it as insurance to the fall feeling that we have going on.
Just before our next front pushes in Friday night / early Saturday morning, we'll briefly turn a southerly wind around off the Gulf of Mexico. Enough moisture will be available that as our front slides in, scattered showers and possible isolated thunderstorms will be able to develop.
Timing of our next rain chance -- as of Wednesday evening -- looks to be late Friday night through, roughly, sunrise Saturday morning. We'll call it:
We'll likely clear out the rain and find returning sunshine noon through sunset on Saturday -- just in time for the Ags to take the field vs. Auburn on Saturday afternoon.
