Happy Halloween -- the time of year to dress up and snag candy from your neighbors. (Nobody better lay a finger on my butterfinger!)
Looking pretty good this Halloween Wednesday, although a bit on the warm side for the last day of October. The normal daytime high for today is 77° -- we'll shoot for about 82° to 83° this afternoon. Halloweens of past have been a little more extreme. Here's a look at some Halloween climatology:
Trick or Treat Forecast
Weather will be perfect tonight for all the little ghouls and goblins! Mostly clear skies, light winds and comfortable temperatures are expected. If you plan on being out a little bit later, you may want to keep a light jacket in the car -- we'll drop into the upper 60s to low 70s by the 9pm to 10pm hour.

Weekend Changes
Now that "what-once-was-Hurricane" Sandy is slowly moving off to the north and northeast through the New England States, we'll start to look for the jet stream to become active once again and
storm systems to start jetting across the country. In fact, the next system to impact our weather is already starting to spin off the Pacific Northwest.
Today will be the last day of a northwesterly flow aloft as we transition to brief ridging in the upper-levels of the atmosphere -- due in for Thursday. By Friday, a more southwesterly flow aloft will take hold as that system of the Northwestern Coast digs down as a trough of low pressure. Models are a bit inconsistent on the depth of this trough, but it does look healthy enough to bring cloud cover back into the forecast for the weekend, along with a slight chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms.
We'll call for a 20% chance of isolated rain by Saturday afternoon, and then a slightly better 30%
shot on Sunday as a cold front tries to move closer to the area. By Monday morning, our long range model bring in a backdoor cold front from the east, followed by a well-defined northerly flow (aka cooler temperatures once again).
As of now, it looks like all of this will shake out by late Monday, leaving a beautiful, mild and sunny day in store for you on Election Day (next Tuesday). We'll keep tabs on any changes and of course bring them to you here.
