Several tropical waves are pushing off the coast of Africa, into the Atlantic as we start the second week of August.
One wave, located about 800 miles east of the Winward Islands, had a high probability of development, pushing westward at around 15-20 mph. The National Hurricane Center has officially downgraded the likelihood of development from 'high' to ' medium' as of 7 a.m., Monday morning.
Even though there isn't an immediate threat for development, this tropical wave could still become our 6th tropical depression of the 2008 Atlantic season at some point this week.
