Fall reminds me of several really good things -- football, the holidays and all-new TV! After a long summertime hiatus, most television series start producing and broadcasting all-new episodes for the start of the new TV season, usually in late September.
Monday night, I found myself in my first real crunch of the season (thank goodness for TiVo). I found myself trying to watch Monday Night Football, but not being able to ignore two of my favorites: Boston Legal and CSI: Miami. That was followed by reruns of what I consider to be a classic on Nick-at-Night, Family Matters!
So that got me to thinking; what's the best show to ever hit the airwaves? This season, in addition to Boston Legal and CSI:Miami, Gray's Anatomy, CSI:NY, the new 90210 and King of the Hill are must-watches for me. My all-time favorite television program was In the Heat of the Night starring the late Carroll O'Connor (and yes I continue to get funny looks every time I reveal that). But I've had a hard time trying to close in on what is actually the best TV show of all time?
What do you think? What is your favorite show, and what is (or was) the best show on television? (there's a difference)
Here are some shows that have already been suggested! What else should be added?

|The Andy Griffith Show|
