We picked up 2.41 inches of rain in Bryan/College Station during our recent wet spell -- which was much needed across the Brazos Valley.
Here's a breakdown of the daily totals:Wed, Mar 11 -- Trace
Thurs, Mar 12 -- 1.37"
Fri, Mar 13 -- 1.02"
Sat, Mar 14 -- 0.02"
Sun, Mar 15 -- Trace
* As a note, the "trace" amounts do not contribute to the totals.
Overall, we are actually over 3 inches below average
for the year so far (-3.26 inches as of March 16) and our 14-month numbers are also still very low. Since January 2008, we're still over 10 inches below what we would normally see for the same time period using 30-year data (1971-2000) for averages.
It's also important to remember that the deficit numbers change everyday as we get -- or don't get -- additional rain. And as much as we don't want to hear it, the deficit numbers are likely to rise until our next rainy day.
