On Wednesday September 30, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. I will take off my microphone in the KBTX studios for the last time as a weather anchor and official employee of News 3.
While I'm very excited about this new opportunity and the new challenges it will bring, there is obviously a great deal of sadness in my departure from not only News 3, but the Brazos Valley.
General manager Mike Wright has always said he hopes "your last day at Channel 3 is one of the hardest days in your life" and that is certainly the case here.
Wright is one of many individuals who has welcomed me into this community and constantly motivated excellence as an only option, while creating an environment that has simply amounted to a second home. (Mother Nature has had a big hand in the second-home part as well :-)
Chief meteorologist Bob French, Barbara Smith, Mike George, Jennifer Canterberry and Steve Fullhart are just a few of the individuals who has continued that theme in one fashion or another, ultimately making KBTX Media one of the best places to work!
Thanks to you and everyone for all the support over the past five years, and for creating a place that will always be home!
As our morning producer has constantly told me, I'm on the midnight train to Georgia!
