I said, Brrrrrrrr. It's cold out there.  There must be high pressure in the atmosphere.

That was the calling this morning with temperatures falling anywhere from the upper 20s to low 40s across the Brazos Valley this morning.  In fact, Centerville reached a low of 29° -- according to our Weather Watcher!  So for a morning that started with bundling up and melting a bit of light frost off of the car, it will turn out to be an absolutely fantastic day.

About as Perfect as You Can Get

Here are the climate stats for Bryan / College Station today:

  • Average High: 67°
  • Average Low: 46°
  • Record High: 85° / 1927
  • Record Low: 25° / 1976

After that cold, frosty start to the morning -- full sunshine, dry air and winds shifting to the southeast by the middle of the afternoon will bring highs to right around "normal" for this 28th day in November:

Get out and enjoy the sunny, mild weather -- we start our warm up and cloud up by tomorrow and won't stop until we reach a few days into December.

December Brings Warm Weather?

Well...for a bit it will.

High pressure that was overhead last night, is moving on to the eastern side of the United States by the end of today.  That will help drive in a southeast wind this afternoon and have it stick around through the rest of the week.  That southeast wind is a warmer and moist wind off the Gulf of Mexico that will crank highs back into the upper 70s to low 80s by the beginning of December.

Here is two ways to look at it:

Where we have been and where we are headed

Where we are according to the seasonal normal:

So get ready, Friends.  We'll be on the warmer side of things heading into the last month of the year.  Missing that Holiday chill?  No worries, it looks like another stout cold front is on schedule for the first part of next week -- thunderstorm chances and another decent cool down should be headed our way by the middle of the first full week of December.
