BRYAN - A stretch of southbound Highway 6 was closed between Calvert and Bremond overnight due to an overturned 18-wheeler.

Troopers on scene say the driver was trying to avoid a deer around 11:00 p.m. Tuesday when his rig overturned and spilled a load of bricks across the highway.

The driver was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan and is expected to be ok.

Southbound lanes reopened to traffic around 3:00 a.m.
