Severe weather swept through the Brazos Valley early Thursday morning, knocking out power, uprooting trees, and flooding low lying areas.

The damage was mainly wind related and relatively minor, but residents who weathered the storm are now cleaning up debris.

The powerful storms left clear signs of nature's wrath.

"I was thinking it was something more severe, I was thinking a tornado," Bryan resident Lisa Fillmore said. "That's why I moved from the upper floor to the bottom."

Fillmore won't have a shaded summer anymore. High winds ripped apart her gazebo.

Bryan Texas Utilities says 2,200 of its customers lost power overnight.

Power lines were tossed across Highway 6 near Woodville Rd. in Bryan and the wind even knocked a utility pole to the ground.

Trees were uprooted, limbs snapped, and small sheds were torn in two.
However, it was the sound of the storm that packed the biggest punch, outweighing the damage it left behind.

"I don't care about materialistic things just as long as it wasn't me or a neighbor," Fillmore said. "Materialistic things can be replaced."

Those who weathered the storm will continue picking up the pieces, thankful that the wicked weather wasn't worse.

Power was restored to all BTU customers by 9 a.m. Thursday.

College Station says no power outages were reported in the city.
