COLLEGE STATION A 19-year-old is facing assault charges after he allegedly punched a College Station police officer in the head.

Police responded to a loud party complaint at an apartment complex in the 100 block of Holleman Dr. at approximately 2:45 am, according to a news release from CSPD.

An officer reportedly found three men fighting at the apartment complex. That's when police say 19-year-old Aaron Anthony Cruz hit the officer in the head with his fist, then ran away.

The officer was transported to the College Station Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries, according to police.

Cruz was later found at the apartment complex, arrested, and charged with assault on a public servant, and evading arrest/detention.
