One man was killed and a woman injured in a crash in Grimes County Friday afternoon.

It happened around 4 p.m. on Farm-to-Market Road 1774 near Todd Mission.

Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell says a car driven by 26-year-old Sina Masihabadi lost control and hit an SUV in an oncoming lane, and died at the scene.

The Sheriff's Office says Masihabadi was a local college student in the Brazos Valley, and was driving to the airport to pick up his mother.

The driver of the SUV was taken to a hospital where she was treated and released.

No alcohol or drugs were involved.
