Grass Fires Keep Volunteer Firefighters Busy
Brazos County volunteer fire departments spent the afternoon battling two grass fires northeast of Bryan Saturday. The call came in about two o'clock for a grass fire on F.M. 974 between F.M. 2038 and Zweifel Road. The second grass fire was just north of the first location. Reporter: KBTX Staff |

Brazos County volunteer fire departments spent the afternoon battling two grass fires northeast of Bryan Saturday.
The call came in about two o'clock for a grass fire on F.M. 974 between F.M. 2038 and Zweifel Road.
Precinct 2 firefighters were first sent, but precincts three and four were soon dispatched.
The owner says the fire started as a small controlled burn, but got out of hand.
The second grass fire was just north of the first location.
It actually was an active scene before the fire broke out on F.M. 974.
Authorities called in for help from the Texas Forest Service to help battle the fire on Deep Well Road.
No word on a cause.
No injuries were reported in either fire.
