One last round of scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms is possible in the Brazos Valley through midnight. A few storms could be strong to severe, with damaging winds & hail being a concern. An isolated, brief tornado threat cannot be ruled out. Highest potential for severe weather is over the Northeastern Corner of the Brazos Valley.
HOUSTON (AP) - Author and musician Kinky Friedman says he'll offend, throw career politicians out of office, open Indian casinos
and consider a moratorium on the death penalty if elected governor.
This was his message to a group of media executives at The Texas
Associated Press Managing Editors conference Sunday.
Friedman is an independent candidate for governor who must
gather 45,540 signatures from registered voters who did not cast
ballots in the May 11 primaries.
He was the final gubernatorial candidate to address the group
over the weekend.
Republican Governor Rick Perry and Democrat and former
congressman Chris Bell, plus Carole Keeton Strayhorn, also an
independent, also spoke to the group.
