It is not the way you want to start your day.

Several College Station residents woke up Thursday to find their vehicles had been broken into.

Police say 13 vehicle burglaries were reported overnight.

Most happened in south College Station on Purple Martin Cove, Starling Drive, Lorikeet Court, and Bridle Trails Court. Police say mostly families live in that area.

Crooks got away with electronic items; like navigation devices, stereos and iPods.

The College Station Police Department say it usually works two or three vehicle burglaries per night. Police also say they are starting to see burglars target residential neighborhoods instead of apartment complexes.

Police remind you not to leave any valuables in your vehicle, especially in plain sight.

Anonymous on Sep 5, 2008 at 09:22 AM You make no sense on this subject therefor you are ignored and plus it shows your weak and a loser by being Anonymous talking trash with no back up. I don't have to talk about Brayn because Bryan speaks for itself. Next! boney what on gods earth does north gate have to do with this????? Just because your old and soggy and cant get into north gate don't mean you have to bash the place. Let the PD do there job and keep your behinds out of it.

First of citizens , you could assist the police by protecting you on property. Do not leave articles in the vehicle in plain sight. Take a moment to place it in your trunk. Do not park in a dark area. Turn your alarm system on if available. Place motion detectors on your porch or garage light. THINK ABOUT WHAT I CAN DO.

Memo to CS Police: WAKE UP! 5 to 6 officers on patrol day or night. You've got to be kidding. You all are on your heels reacting. Be pro-active, patrol neighborhoods, patrol areas that have been hit recently. You know they'll be back for more. Those criminals are like hungry mosquitos that keep sucking blood from a big fat kid. You all need to be the off. Better yet..the bug killer!

my car and several others at my apartment complex were broken into one morning when we awoke I gave a police report but all i got was a letter a few months later saying they have made no arrest and that they would let me know when they did? that was it since then my car has been keyed twice and it always looks like someone with sticky hands crawled on it the night before lol ? who knows i wish they would patrol more areas at night

This is why I park my car in my garage. Most of my neighbors use their garage to store their useless junk. Not me!

Good Gosh!!!Police told us car burglaries were down ten percent. Really? Have you seen the significant activity reports lately. They are three pages long! Give me a break. Not a break in! CS Police this is a wake up call. The criminals own the nights here. They know you're on Ngate patrol not crime prevention. Sorry tax payers, home owners, struggling middle class the students are the goose that lays the golden egg.

Thanks for the warning, we'll be putting on our motion sensor lights and locking doors tonight for sure.

It only takes a few minutes for these criminals to get into and take everything out of your car. It took thieves less than 30 minutes for them to steal our sons vehicle in broad daylight at the mall. of course there were no witnesses. They need to put up safety cameras. Even wal-mart has them.
