On October 1, the city of Bryan plans to be back in the golf course business. City officials confirmed Thursday they plan to take over the day-to-day operations at the Bryan Municipal golf course.

The course is currently managed by Golf Solutions which still has a year remaining on its contract with Bryan. But the city says that contract also contains a year-to-year funding provision. By refusing to approve funding, the city says the contract is voided.

Several positions at the golf course are already posted on the city's web site. The council will vote Tuesday on spending $676,000 to purchase new golf carts and turf for the course.
