LIVINGSTON, Texas -- Kevin Watts has been in and out of jail much of his life and admits to being disobedient and disdainful toward authority.
Now, the 27-year-old death row inmate is to die in the state death chamber Thursday night.
Watts confessed to fatally shooting three people in the head execution-style during the holdup of a San Antonio restaurant more than six years ago. The wife of one of the victims was then abducted and raped.
Thursday, he's to become the second inmate executed this week, bringing the state's execution total this year to 11. Another 10 inmates are set to die over the next five weeks in the nation's busiest capital punishment state.
The U.S. Supreme Court earlier this year refused to review his case and his lawyer said no last-minute appeals were filed.
Watts is to die for the 2002 deaths of the manager of the Sam Won Gardens restaurant, Hak Po Kim, 30, and cooks Yan Tzu Banks and Sun Chae Shook.
Watts says he's not afraid to die but regrets leaving his pals and mother.
