Phone calls from concerned residents have helped uncover one of the worst alleged cases of animal abuse in the history of Robertson County.
Thursday night, Clifton Muzyka, 57, of Bremond was behind bars charged with 60 counts of animal cruelty.
Sheriff Gerald Yezak says eight cattle carcasses were found after a search warrant was executed on Muzyka's property just south of Bremond near FM 46.
Twenty horses and more than 100 head of cattle were also seized after they were determined to be malnourished. The animals have since been fed and are under a veterinarian's care.
Cruelty of animals is a Class-A misdemeanor which means, Muzyka could face, if found guilty, up to a year in prison and up to a $2,000 fine for each charge.
