Birds are to blame for power outages in College Station Friday, according to the city's utility company.
Shortly before noon, College Station Utilities reports nearly 2,000 customers lost power, including part of Southwood Valley, the Woodstone Shopping Center, and streets east and southeast of the Texas Avenue/University Drive intersection.
The cause was apparently a feeder outage due to birds, followed by a subsequent fault on another feeder.
By 12:40 p.m., power was restored. The lone remaining issue was a traffic light at Harvey Road and Munson Avenue that crews were working to repair.
