WELLBORN, Texas The snow day was a welcome site for kids everywhere in the Brazos Valley.
News 3 caught some of the fun in the snow on camera.
Busy boots were running on a rare snow day in the Brazos Valley.
Toddlers to pre-kindergarteners love the snow at Angels R Wee Daycare in Wellborn.
You also had to watch out for some snowballs!
"I played in the snow very well and I like it very much," said 5-year-old Jordyn Carey.
She and her family loves the snow.
"I was just eating it like, just eating," she said.
"Oh they love it. She was actually the first three years of her life we lived in Fort Drum, NY so she was around snow all the time. But down in Texas we don't get snow that often, but she's been asking when do I get to see snow again so she was pretty thrilled this morning. She looked out the window and there was snow covering the ground," said her mother Jessica Carey.
Tammy Martine is the kids' grandmother and owns Angels R Wee Daycare where they've been learning about this winter weather.
"So we've been reading lots of winter book stories having some pretend snow days coming in our pajamas hanging out on the floor with quilts. And today we get to come out and actually experience the cold so it's a great Friday ending up our lesson," said Martine.
The first snow of the year is so much fun it seems to bring out the kid in all of us.
In Bedias Dylan and Aidan Fedor were caught on camera playing in the snow.
Something they didn't think they'd ever see again moving here from Pennsylvania.
And the Texas A&M Golf Course was blanketed in white.
"Oh we're just thankful that the Good Lord gave us a great day today," said Tammy Martine.
A beautiful sight we don't see often.
Most of the area received a dusting of snow to an inch accumulation.
