BRYAN - Bryan Police have made a new arrest in a FedEx package theft that was caught on camera two weeks ago.
25-year-old Sherry Maxey of College Station turned herself in Tuesday and is charged with theft of property under $1,500 with two or more previous convictions as well as making a false statement to obtain credit.
Her friend Andres Hammond was arrested last month after police say he stole the $90 Sony Stereo System that had been delivered by FedEx to a Bryan home a few hours earlier.
According to the police report the manager at Best Pawn saw Hammond on the news and contacted investigators saying Hammond looked familiar and had been to the store with a stereo.
Police say Hammond and Sherry Maxey pawned the stereo an hour after the theft, but the woman denied being in the car during the theft.
Police were able to return the property to the owners.
Sherry Maxey is out of jail after posting $7,000 bond.
Andres Hammond remains in the Brazos County Jail on bonds totaling $50,000.
