CS Accident Ties Up Traffic; Driver Arrested for DWI

A multi-car collision caused quite the traffic mess Tuesday night in College Station.

Three vehicles were hit and the driver responsible is now in jail, accused of driving drunk.

College Station police say the driver, Steven Bethea of Bryan, was headed north on 2818 when he started swerving in and out of the north and southbound lanes.

Police say he crashed into a pickup truck in the northbound lane, then hit two cars in the southbound lane before running off the road and crashing into a ditch near Easterwood Airport.

No one was injured, but Bethea was arrested for driving while intoxicated. However, because he has two prior convictions, he faces a third degree felony in this case.

Bethea has also had several arrests out of Harris County.

According to the police report Bethea listed himself as manager of the Twin City Mission.

Twin City Mission is not commenting after an organization member told News 3 it's their policy not to comment on personnel matters.
