It's history in the making as community leaders and emergency responders in Calvert break ground Friday afternoon on what will soon become a brand new state-of-the-art Fire Station.
For several years, the facility has been on the minds of many city officials and after funding approval through federal grants and loans from the United Stated Department of Agriculture, the project is now possible.
Robertson County News Photographer and Calvert Fireman, Zeke Bermudez, tells News 3 the new fire station will house the Calvert Volunteer Fire Department and, at some point, the next Robertson County EMS crew that goes into service in the county.
This new firehouse is expected to be complete in the fall.
