COLLEGE STATION A woman suspected of robbing a College Station bank Thursday afternoon has been arrested.
College Station Police say the Brenham National Bank in the 24 hundred block of Highway 6 was robbed about 1:38 p.m.
Witnesses say a woman entered the bank and demanded money from a teller by presenting a threatening note.
Police quickly located the suspect vehicle at the Post Oak Mall.
A woman, now identified as 41-year-old Betty Joy Williams of Navasota, was arrested inside the mall.
Investigators say she was found in possession of money taken in the bank robbery.
They say no weapon was used in the robbery.
On February 6, 2014 at approximately 1:38 pm officers with the College Station Police Department were notified of a robbery that had just occurred at the Brenham National Bank located at 2470 Earl Rudder Freeway. The victim stated the suspect had entered the bank and demanded money from the teller by presenting a threatening note. Upon the suspect exiting the bank, a description of the suspect and the vehicle the suspect left in was obtained by bank personnel. Officers quickly located the suspect vehicle at Post Oak Mall and determined that the suspect had entered into the mall. She was found inside of the mall and detained at that time. The suspect was found in possession of the money taken in the robbery and matched the description given by the teller. There were no weapons used in the commission of the offense as well as no injuries reported.
