Law Enforcement Procession Brings Fallen Deputy's Body Home

BRENHAM The body of a Burleson County Sheriff's Deputy killed in the line of duty has been returned to this area after an autopsy was performed in Austin.

The body of Adam Sowders arrived at the Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Brenham Friday night after a law-enforcement-led procession from Austin.

Sowders was shot and killed while serving a search warrant with 7 other deputies at a mobile home Wednesday morning near Snook.

The preliminary autopsy results haven't been released yet.

The 31 year old sergeant investigator joined the Burleson County Sheriff's Office in 2006 and had been recently promoted.
