Many questions still remain over what exactly happened around 3:40 Saturday morning in the 500 block of Boyett Street in College Station.
Area residents like Texas A&M Graduate Student Sean Wu had no idea someone was reportedly assaulted in the street.
"Actually I had a bike tire stolen a couple weeks ago but I didn't think crime in that area was that bad you know bike tire going missing is not an aggravated robbery. So a little surprised to hear that something that bad happened here," said Wu.
The victim Lawrence Taylor told police he was walking from further up the road in Bryan to College Station when he was knocked unconscious after an assault.
Police say when he woke up his wallet was gone and so were the suspects.
It's still unknown where the attack exactly happened. Neighbors say the road only has a few streetlights.
"It's not really well lit," commented Wu.
Bryan resident James Stewart says the attack is going to make him more aware of his surroundings.
"I don't want that to be on nobody else especially I don't want it to be on me if I ain't doing nothing. Yeah it's scary though," said Stewart.
"I mean I try not to be by myself at night anyway if I go out usually with friends so definitely gonna keep up with that. I'll try not get caught by myself in the middle of the night," said Sean Wu.
Taylor was treated and released from St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan after he complained of hand and shoulder pain.
Police also tell us his wife 45-year-old Louise Maxey reported the incident and was arrested for failure to identify and an outstanding warrant for theft by check in Grimes County.
