College Station residents are signing a petition.
Kaska Watson said, "I love the small towns of Texas. I love road tripping and its something that makes Texas unique and they're very proud of who they are and I just think they should get to remain who they are and be Wellborn."
It's recalling the city mayor and four council members for not allowing Wellborn residents to vote on their own annexation.
Dale Holecek has lived in Wellborn for five years and wants to maintain his country lifestyle.
"The petition today is a recall of the mayor and four of the council persons and its being brought by the citizens of College Station, not Wellborn," Holecek said.
David Leatham, a 27 year College Station resident, said, "It's not right for the mayor and city councilmen to not provide the opportunity for citizens in the Wellborn area to be able to make the decision as to who should provide those services."
Services like natural gas lines and sewer systems.
"The people are beginning to feel their misusing their taxes and resources to expand outside the city, when actually, over 40% of the city is not developed yet," said Holecek.
The group needs to collect 40% of the total number of people that voted for each city council member and Mayor Berry.
So far, they have several hundred.
For the recall to happen, College Station city reps say they need to collect a total of 8,256 signatures.
1,553 for Mayor Nancy Berry, 2,169 for Council member Crompton, 2,164 for Maloney, 1,210 to cover Lyles and 1,160 for Ruesink.
