Police: Drunk Driver Hits Patrol Car

Update: A suspected drunk driver who police say ran a red light and then struck a police cruiser has bonded out of jail.

Saturday afternoon investigators say Jessica Marvin of Bryan was traveling southbound on the frontage road of Earl Rudder Freeway,
when she ran a red light and collided with a parked college station police cruiser while with the officer was inside.
The officer was transported to the College Station Medical Center for minor injuries and has been released.

On 05/12/2012 College Station Police Officers were conducting a crash investigation at the intersection of the west frontage road of Earl Rudder Freeway and Southwest Parkway. At about 1154 hours a 2006 Dodge Charger, driven by 24 year old Jessica Marvin of Bryan Texas, was travelling southbound on the frontage road, ran the red light and struck a stationary College Station Police Tahoe. The police vehicle was occupied by one officer when it was struck. The overhead emergency lights on the vehicle were activated.

During the investigation it was determined that the driver of the Charger was intoxicated. Jessica Marvin was arrested and charged with DWI (1st offense).

Sgt. L. Alvarez was transported by ambulance to the College Station Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries. Sgt. Alvarez was treated and released.
