Streak of Light Seen Across Texas
What lit up the sky over a large of part of the United States and Texas tonight that set off a flurry of calls to TV stations and law enforcement agencies?
Dozens of KBTX viewers called News 3 tonight describing a bright orange, yellow and sometimes green streak across the sky shortly before 8 p.m.
It moved about from west to east about 15-degrees above the horizon. Some say it lasted as long as 10 to 15 seconds, had a tail and emitted sparks.
The Federal Aviation Administration told KBTX's sister station, KWTX, that the object was a meteorite.
