BRENHAM - To kick off our Trips on a Tank series on Brazos Valley This Morning, we're headed to Blue Bell Creameries in Brenham.
You'll get a behind-the-scenes look at the ice cream process from start to finish.
The tour guide will take you through several different parts of the factory, where you can see first-hand how the ice cream is mixed, stored and then packaged.
If you're feeling adventurous, you can step inside the "freezer experience", which is a tiny room mimicking the conditions of the actual Blue Bell freezers. That means the temperatures drop way down to 20 degrees below zero.
Once you walk out of the arctic though, there's a pretty nice treat waiting for you. You'll end the tour in ice cream parlor, where you can sample many of the famous flavors.
Tours are Monday - Friday
8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m., as needed on a first come, first served basis.
No weekend tours.
Parking is limited.
Admission costs (includes a serving of Blue Bell Ice Cream):
General Admission $6.00
Senior Citizens (55+) and Children (6 to 14) $4.00
Groups of 15 or more must have a reservation Sept. through May
No group reservations June through August.
Tours last 45 minutes and include a serving of ice cream.
Please check with hostess upon arrival.
No cameras permitted on tour.
Closed most holidays.
Tour schedule may vary October - February.
