A&M Surgeons Perform Groundbreaking Procedure

Updated: 10/28/2006 - A non-invasive cardiac catheterization repairing the hole in a dog's heart was performed on a standard poodle for the first time ever at Texas A&M. In the day-long procedure, doctor's repaired the heart defect by plugging the hole with an umbrella-type device. No dog has ever had this device, however it is commonly used in children.
