The leaders of Milam County's seat have made a change at the top of their city staff.
Cameron's city council voted to fire City Manager Fred Stephens on Monday.
According to the Cameron Herald and KMIL Radio, Friday at another meeting, the council named one of their members, David Barkemeyer, to take the job on an interim basis while the city searches for a new city manager.
No reason was given for Stephens' firing. He had been with the city since June of 2005.
