A local man is flown to the hospital after an ATV accident. The accident happened just before 6 p.m. Sunday, at the Soggy Bottom ATV Ranch near the border of Brazos and Madison counties.
First responders say the man was trying to drive his four-wheeler up a steep embankment, when the ATV rolled over backwards, and landed on top of him.
"The front bumper caught his face and his chest. After the four-wheeler rolled off him, he rolled down the embankment and hit a tree," said Roy Buckley, of the North Zulch Fire Department.
Friends and relatives were riding near the man, and were able to call for help. The hill was too steep for ambulances to drive down, so the man had to be driven up the hill in the bed of a pickup truck.
