Plot Thickens For CS Cemetery

It's going to cost more to be buried in College Station's new cemetery.

On Thursday, the city council approved just over $7 million for the city cemetery.

The project came in nearly $1 million over budget because of rising construction costs.
.
Officials say they'll make up the cost through plot sales. They're considering charging about $900 for a plot in the cemetery, and more for former students who want to be buried in the Aggie Field of Honor.

City staff will present recommendations to the council on what to charge based on industry standards.

The cemetery will be built at the corner of Harvey Mitchell and Raymond Stotzer parkway.
