Iraq is on everyone's mind on this fifth anniversary marking the start of the war. That is especially true for families with a loved one deployed there.
Laurie Calvin's only son is serving as a mortarman in Iraq. Private Lance Sanders is a 2007 graduate of Bryan High School.
Though 19 now, Laurie says her son's decision two years ago, to defend his country, makes her proud every day. "That my 17-year-old could make that decision. He knew what he was doing and he knows what he can give up and he accepts that," said Calvin.
Private Sanders is expected to be in Iraq until next February. Around 150,000 men and women are serving there now.
