Keep Brazos Beautiful Director Resigns

The top woman at Keep Brazos Beautiful has stepped down.

Board members on Thursday accepted Laura Tankersley's resignation as executive director.

The board's acting president, Eric Zaragoza, said both Tankersley and the agency were ready for a change.

At the afternoon meeting, Zaragoza said board members thanked Tankersley for her dedication and service, and wished her the best in her furture endeavors.

Tankersley could not be reached for comment Thursday.

The agency's executive committee will meet next week to begin the search for a new director, according to Zaragoza.

Tankersley has headed up Keep Brazos Beautiful since 2000.
