Texas Tuesday is over, but that didn't stop hundreds of Brazos Valley democrats from casting a vote Saturday.

Over 500 Brazos County democrat delegates met at Kemp elementary, in Bryan. They split into groups to decide who would attend the state democrat convention this summer.

Thirty six delegates and 36 alternates will represent Brazos County in Austin. That number is based on democrat voter turnout in the last gubernatorial race.

"People need to turn out to vote when its not a presidential year. It matters," said Maggie Charleton, Executive Director of the Brazos County Democrat Party.

This year's Texas Democrat Convention is June 6th & 7th.
