The investigation has been completed and assault charges are recommended. The Leon County Sheriff has passed along the findings of their investigation to County Attorney James Witt.

The Sheriff's Department is recommending Principal David Jones be charged with misdemeanor assault after an altercation he had with a student.

Jones has been on suspension, and it is not clear if he will return to his position. The County Attorney is reviewing the recommendation.
