After all the hype and hoopla, there may not be a Hooters restaurant in Bryan after all. The company that owns the Texas franchise says it wants to reevaluate plans of locating in the Twin Cities.
Hooters has yet to file for a building permit with the city of Bryan. Company officials told the city they are reconsidering expansion after cost overruns at their two newest restaurants in the Houston area.
The Bryan location did receive an alcoholic beverage permit in December, despite strong local protest. But since then, there's been no activity at the prospective site on Texas Avenue.
