If you think College Station is cool, you're not alone. The city has been named an official "COOL CITY" for its enviornmental programs and practices. It's one of 22 Texas cities recognized by the U.S. Conference of Mayors.

A driving force behind College Station's efforts is the Brazos Environmental Action Network (BEAN). It helped implement a local climate protection agreement committed to energy-efficiency.
