A shooting on the campus of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville had portions of the school on lockdown.
No one was injured in the shooting, which according to a university official, took place around 9 p.m. Thursday night near the middle of campus in what is known as the Pit area at a large student gathering.
The Pit is located between the administration and Farrington buildings.
According to Frank Krystyniak with the university, an individual took a gun out and fired at least one shot into the air.
No one was injured, though a shop and a computer lab near the shooting were locked down as a result.
The threat, according to Krystyniak, was over by around 10 p.m.
The university's police department was unwilling to release any information Thursday night despite repeated calls.
Classes will go on as scheduled Friday according to Krystyniak.
